Vladimir Tarasenko to stay in Russia for 2010-11
Now it's official. With a short communicate on their website, Sibir Novosibirsk announced that top prospect Vladimir Tarasenko is going to skate in Siberia for the 2010-11 season.
"We did all we could to have Tarasenko in the roster for the upcoming 2010-11 season", declared Sibir's GM Kirill Fastovsky. "I'm truly happy that he took the decision to stay with our team. He's a very talented guy and he has great potential, he can help the team in achieving big results."
While it's not clear if Vladimir signed a new contract or not, it looks almost certain that after this season he will join the St. Louis Blues organization. Will he make the team directly after that or will he need some AHL seasoning? He was one of the most NHL-ready prospects at the draft and thus he might be able to make the NHL roster as soon as next summer.
Recently Vladimir Tarasenko played first line hockey with team Russia U20 in three friendly games against team France. He was the captain of the team and skated in the same line with Los Angeles Kings' prospect Maxim Kitsyn.
