Maxim Chudinov signs a new KHL deal
Maxim Chudinov has inked a new 2-yr deal with his KHL team, Severstal Cherepovets.
Chudinov has been drafted this weekend by the Boston Bruins of the NHL with the 196th overall pick at the 2010 draft. Bruins' GM Peter Chiarelli compared him to Brian Rafalski.
"Maxim just signed a new contract with Severstal, it will be official in the next few days", Chudinov's agent Igor Kramarev told Sports Daily newspaper. "When we knew that the Bruins drafted him, I phoned him and congratulated. He was really glad that a NHL team showed interest in him. I hope he'll get a spot with the Bruins in the next few years."
In spite of his young age Maxim Chudinov is an experienced player as he skated with team Russian in many junior tournaments and has three pro seasons in Russia under his belt. The 2009-10 season was his best as he scored 13 points in the regular season with six goals and seven assists, logging an average of more than eighteen minutes a night.
