Kirill Petrov has been traded from Ak Bars Kazan to Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, the KHL newcomers.

The young forward struggled finding ice time during the latest couple of seasons and thus Ak Bars Kazan, KHL reigning champions, decided to pack the sized prospect to Khanty-Mansiysk for a fifth round pick during the next KHL Junior Draft.

The 20-years-old Petrov played only two games with Ak Bars this year, and three with Bars in the MHL. It will be interesting to see if this move will actually put Petrov nearer or farther to North America.
